What if...
We ignore the growing crisis of food insecurity, creating food deserts and lack of access to nutritious meals for American citizens?
Right now, the United States is facing a growing agricultural emergency that many people don’t realize. The problem is no longer just about rising prices. It’s about access to healthy, nutrient-dense food.
What if …we invest and empower small-scale farmers to help them expand, get access to essential funding, collaborative networks, fair policies, and comprehensive education. Then, they can support the nutritional health, stability, and survival of local communities. Our food system is only as strong as the people who grow it.
But...
What if… one small image, just an inch and a half, could help sustain a small-scale farmer, strengthen a community, and sustain our food systems?
Through creative efforts, the 2020 Farmer’s Cooperative will raise funds to support our small-scale farmers. We will collect 6,000 individual 1½-inch photographs, each representing a donor, a story, or a logo.
These images will be assembled week by week into a stunning, unified, 8-foot by 8-foot digital and traditionally painted mosaic -- piece by piece, pixel by pixel, brush stroke by brush stroke, until it’s fully revealed on June 19, 2026.

What is a Cooperative?

A cooperative (or co-op) is a business that’s owned and run by the people who use it. When you join a cooperative, you are not just buying into a business, you are gaining a team that focuses on your success.

Members of the 2020 Farmers Co-Op can buy in bulk to get better prices and deals, leverage their power to negotiate with buyers and policymakers, share knowledge and more. Our goal is to help our members level the playing field, especially for small and socially disadvantaged farmers, by giving our members the tools, confidence, and community to grow their business and protect their future.

Named for the clarity of 20/20 vision, the 2020 Farmers Co-Op was founded with a sharp, focused purpose: to champion fair and equitable marketing opportunities nationwide for small-scale, historically underserved farmers.
