The mission of the 2020 Farmers Cooperative is to create and operate a marketing cooperative that promotes fair and equitable agricultural opportunities for black and socially disadvantaged farmers nationwide.

2020 Farmers Cooperatives’ governance is transparent and has consistent management practices with cohesive policies, guidance, processes and decision-rights for each given area of responsibility.

Through our policies, farmer members determine who has power, who makes decisions and how other stakeholders participate and make their voices heard. Transparency and accountability are two founding principals at 2020 and we believe this is what builds trust among our members.

We encourage staff and farmer member partnerships within a highly participatory democracy. The 2020 Cooperative board provides the framework and oversight in decision-making.  Elected and appointed committees offer guidance to the board and serve as a conduit to membership.
